What Causes Fetal Alcohol Syndrome?

Question: I have recently found out I am pregnant I am roughly 8 weeks along, however since I was unaware I have been drinking and not taking prenatal what are the chances the baby will have fetal alcohol syndrome. I have not been drinking heavily I have maybe gotten drunk 3 times by having more than 3 pints of draught beer.

I don't see any major harm to baby. Looking at the scenario of having few beers won't harm baby significantly. There is no possibility of fetal alcohol syndrome.

Hi,

Fetal alcohol syndrome is suspected if you had large amount of alcohol almost every other day.

Anyway Ultrasound scan at 20 weeks can identify this in detail if baby is affected. But I am hundred percent sure baby will not be affected.
