What Causes Fever And Nausea After Removing Wisdom Tooth?

I would prefer to initiate a course of antibiotics either way
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Normally, after any such procedure the doctor does prescribe a course of antibiotics just to make sure infections as prevented (prophylactic course); was such a course prescribed?
A fever so close to the procedure could be indicative of an infection, and I would recommend the initiation of a course of antibiotics if that has not already been done. The antibiotics will help either way, whether this is a developing infection or not.
Some children can experience a mild fever after such procedures mainly due to pain and other distress, but this is short-lived and subsides within a few days (3-5 days). As for the nausea, this could be due to the surgery as well. The use of anaesthesia during the procedure and also the wound produced is at close proximity with many major nerves, that can cause nausea in itself.
I would recommend waiting for a day or 2, and then reporting to your doctor if things do not change or gets worse. You can also keep in touch with me, and report any developments to me so I can guide you accordingly.
I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.
Best wishes.
