What Causes Fever, Mouth Ulcers, Constant Dry Throat, Night Sweats And Nausea?
Question: My nine year old daughter has been sick for 5 days. Her first symptom when she woke up last Thursday was a fast heartbeat of 120 bpm and low energy. That afternoon she had no energy and a fever of 102. Then she developed two ulcers in her mouth - one in the back left, and just today (day 5) one on the tip of her tongue. For the past three days, she has had a dry constant cough that seems to be getting worse. Her fever seems to spike in the evening and in the middle of the night. Last night she had night sweats but the fever returned this evening. She also has nausea and threw up a little at 3 am last night. This evening, her fever was 102.8 after 5 days.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
From your description it looks like your daughter could have a bacterial infection of throat or chest.
It could also be infectious mononucleosis.
It is better to take her to your pediatrician and get her thoroughly examined.
She may need blood tests to confirm the infection and along with an xray as per examination findings.
Continue motrin and plenty of liquids to keep her hydrated meanwhile.
Wishing your child speedy recovery.
