What Causes Fever, Throat Infection And Cough In Children?

My daughter (7yrs.) is having fever from last 10 days. It started with throat infection, cough initially. Doctor prescribed OFlox(anti biotic) and Mefthal (only when fever is high). She gets fever usually in the afternoon(around 2-3pm). From last 2/3 days she is having a high temperature of 102F in the afternoon and on an average 100F during night.
We already performed many tests as below.
Malaria card test - negative
Dengue - negative
CBC:
Platelete count - 4.31 lakhs/cumm
RBC - 4.99 million/cumm
Haemoglobin - 9.9 g/dL
Widal test:
S. Typhill "O" - Positive (1:80 dil)
S. Typhill "H" - Positive (1:80 dil)
S. Paratyphill "AH" - Negative (1:20 dil)
S. Paratyphill "BH" - Negative (1:20 dil)
C Reactive Protein (CRP) - 2.1 mg/dl
What can be root cause of persistent fever?
We consulted another doctor and he suggested for taxim-o forte (5ml-100mg) 5ml 2 times/day for 3 days. We are not quite sure what we should do as next step as the fever still persists after 10 days.
Appreciate any suggestion.
Thanks, XXXXXXX
She requires a proper Antibiotic.

HI XXXXXXX
Greeting from Dr. Divakara.P
First of all thanks for choosing Healthcaremagic for posting your query.
You mentioned that she had Cough initially . Is the cough still there or its gone now?
Because for throat infection the antibiotics prescribed is not so good . I would recommend her to get a test called Throat Swab Culture Sensitivity which will give us an idea which bacteria has infected her and which is the right antibiotic for that.
I would also recommend to start Azithromycin tablet for her. Kindly ask your doctor for this prescription.
Also let he do salt water gargling, drink hot water, Avoid Non veg and oily food . Avoid Citrus Fruits.
Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .
Regards.

She does not have cough now. Though she has running nose.
Today we observed the pattern of fever as below.
6am - 100
10am - 98.3
2pm - 98.3
6pm - 100.2
7pm - 101.2
10pm - 98.3
It is similar pattern from last few days.
Is it something to worry as fever does not go away after 10 days?
Regards, XXXXXXX
No need to worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
There is nothing to worry. A fever persisting for 10 days has to be due to bacterial infection. Bacterial infection gets cured only if right antibiotic is used and i feel she has not been given proper antibiotics.
In my experience Azithromycin will work well and bring her fever down. Kindly get it started .
Regards.
