Question: TO DOCTOR IRILL SHARKA ONLY

IT IS XXXXXXX I so much wish that I had just popped to the doctor when I felt faint a few times. everyone else in my family are okay. I know if I had gone I would be too. I know you said that if my heart and brain are okay there can't have been anything serious causing me to feel faint. but there must have been something or I wouldn't have felt faint in the first place. and to feel it several times I was mad not to have it checked out. what happens to whatever it was does it just build up until like me you have become really ill? I have spent the last ten years having my Christmases in instutions and not the intimate lovely Christmases I used to plan and have at home. I know you said to go out and meet new people but how can you when you are too scared. I never thought I wouldn't go to the doctor when necessary. I was usually so careful. I have lost hope and am so scared of dying since my dad died in front of me when I was 13. none of my family or friends talk to me and one good friend said the next thing for me is that they will arrange a funeral for me and say nice things. that makes me so scared. I find it hard to believe that a care conscious person like me went so wrong. I used to love life so much when I was running my school but lost that ten years ago and someone else is running it now. I can't live in the past but that shouldn't have been. I only wish that I could go back but can't. what a fool I am. I was told by the doctor that if I had gone when I was faint I would probably still be running my school. do you know facebook?all my friends and family have pages on it of their grandchildren and them selves with them. my page is empty. will I just die? be honest with me.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Welcome back on HCM!

Here we are again with the same uncertainties. I really can understand your situation and your loneliness.

It is really a hard thing to live without your beloved person at your age.

But nothing is lost yet! You have lost 10 years of your life. But you should try to get out of this situation.

I already explained you that there are a lot of benign causes of fainting like: low blood pressure, dehydration, chronic anemia, an electrolyte imbalance, low blood glucose or an over-stimulation of the vagal nerve.

These are benign causes, which usually recover spontaneously with some rest and with a good diet.

I can reassure you that based on the fact that these episodes did non persist for a long time and your situation improved spontaneously, and you are alive now (with normal cardiac and brain tests), it indicates that one of the above mentioned causes should have been related to these few episodes of fainting.

Even if you had gone to the doctor, nothing would have changed in your physical health. I can not really understand these nonprofessional doctors who claim the contrary. They are definitely nonprofessional and have no empathy for their patients.

From the other hand, I already told you that I have seen patients like you, who with the appropriate psychiatric therapy have returned to their normal life.

That is why I insist that you should consult with another psychiatrist. If this is the best psychiatrist in your city, than go to another city, to another well-known psychiatrist. I don't really have information on best psychiatrist in England.

Regarding hypnotherapy, I would recommend trying it. Until know, no previous therapy that you have tried has really been effective. Why not try this other therapy? You should keep doing everything you can to change your situation. It is all in your mind. I can understand that you can not do this alone, as you have not that force inside you. But let you be helped be the best drugs and the best therapy options (why not hypnotherapy).

This therapy is recommended for cases like yours, who have not improved for a long period.

Maybe the new therapy coupled with hypnotherapy will help you get out of this virtual cage. Than, you will be able to get in touch with your beloved persons. I am sure they will understand that you have changed and will appreciate them.

Mother is only one in the world, she who gave us birth. So nobody wants to lose her. Even if you think that you have lost them, they will come back to you as soon as you get out of this circle. As soon as you through away the fear that you are dying.

You are not dying! You are going to live just like the others! You should just have more faith in me, in your tests and in your future.

Nothing is lost forever, until there is hope and there is life. I understand that you have lost your hope, but it is there, inside you. You just should try to find it in your heart and mind. Some changes in your therapy are necessary to help you find it. Why not hypnotherapy!

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
