What Causes Firmness In The Groin After Marsupialisation Of Bartholin's Cyst?

default
Posted on Fri, 3 Mar 2017
Question: Hi, I had a Bartholins marsupialisation on 27th November and not experienced any pain, but sutures are still there and recently turned black/red (from my period?) worried that they have not yet dissolved, plus I can feel a firmness around the area, not painful but strange - is it scar tissue? Difficult to understand what's going on as incision is deep seated and difficult to see - feel ok but just wondering what the heck is going on down there! Specially concerned as sutures have turned this funny colour despite having hot baths to soak them. Any advice/ recommendations would be appreciated!

Brief Answer:
Consult your doctor and get the sutures removed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare Magic.

I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

I have read your notes thoroughly. The firmness is probably due to the scar tissue.
It is strange that the sutures are still there. Consult your doctor and get them removed as the healing would have occurred long time ago.

I hope this is helpful.
I will be happy to answer if you have any further concerns.

Best wishes,
Dr Rama
