What Causes Flatulence After Introducing Home Food To Infant?

Question: we just started feeding food other than mothers milk.
10 days back we started with cerelac sishu ahar .
we started with one fruit banana yesterday mostly smashed or mixed with cerelac.
today we started with home made rice and dal.
he hasn't been himself today. once we removed diaper he stopped crying but hasn't been this irritated before. he has been farting whole day and its smelly.
yesterday he passed stool but it was very thick and the first stool was very dry was probably acting like a plug for the rest of it.. that is the first time he passed stool after 3 days.

are we doing anything wrong ?
what is the correct order of introducing food ?

Thanks for the query

Complementary feed should be started after age of 6 months in a step wise manner.It is good to start with rice or ragi and then dal ka pani. Wheat should be given after an interval of one to two weeks.
The shishu ahar contains wheat,rice and moong. Many babies are found to be allergic to wheat.Once added in food the allergy can be detected by abnormal symptoms like abdominal distension,loose stool or flatulence.
I recommend to start home made food rather than these prepared formula.
You can give rice powder mixed with milk or dal ka pani initially.
You can also give mashed potato and banana.
I would suggest you to stop this formula and to start home made food.
Sometime even after introduction of any complementary food the baby's intestine may respond abnormally.But this should not be persistent.
Give breast feed in between as per demand.

How about amount of salt , sugar and spices?
Should we add any of these to rice , dal ka pani, or potato?

Just to increase the palatability you can add small amount of sugar(with rice powder and milk) or salt (with dal ka pani) in between. Don't add spices at this stage as baby may not tolerate it.
