What Causes Fluid Filled Bumps On The Fingers?
Question: I have a small, fluid filled something on two fingers, under the skin. One moves around a lot, in and around a joint. The other is at the base of my fingernail, and if I squeeze it the swelling goes down. What could they be?

One is in the middle joint of my middle finger on the right hand. There is nothing visible, nothing to photograph. I did jam the knuckle about a year ago. The cyst comes and goes, slides around and only irritates me when it seems to get in the way of the joint when bending the finger.
The second one is on the middle finger of the left hand, just above the nail bed. Also doesn't much in a photo. Both are about 2-3 mm. I don't remember any injury there, but I live on a farm and things happen. There is no swelling in the joints or fingers. I do not have arthritis. My mother did.
