What Causes Food Particles Getting Stuck In Throat?

Question: Small food particles are getting struck in my throat and they come out once in a while when I brush or when I cough. How to get rid of this?

When I cough it out, I see a white blob which seems like accumulation of food.

Hi Mam,
I have gone through your query; it suggests that most probably you may be suffering from the foreign body i.e. food particles in the tonsils.

In this condition I personally advised to go for the diluted hydrogen peroxide gargles just after the each meal.

If the condition persist even after this then better to go for the laryngoscopic examination of throat to rule out the other disease or to reach the near diagnosis.

For your kind information tonsil present either side of the inner side of the throat and each tonsil have at-least 16 holes and when food particles embedded in these holes forms the calcium deposit known as tonsilolith and these looks like a white blobs.

Can I get Hydrogen Peroxide in pharmacy? Is there any specific product available in pharmacy?

Hi Doctor,
I went to pharmacy to buy Hydrogen Peroxide and the chemist asked me the reason, I said I want to use it for mouth gargle, then he told me that, this will be very strong and should not be used for gargles, you please check with your doctor once again.

Today, I opened this page and I see that you have mentioned Diluted Hydrogen Peroxide. So do I need to ask for Diluted Hydrogen Peroxide or buy Hydrogen Peroxide and mix (dilute) it with water before using for gargles? Please suggest how to use it.
