default
Posted on Mon, 3 Nov 2014
Question: Hi Doctor, Im not sure what my issue is but for approx the past two weeks i have been having a really offensive body odor. Im not sure if it is actually coming from my body or clothing, but i only notice it when i start sweating at work and its really embarrassing. I have cleaned my clothes with vinegar after research and the smell doesnt seem as bad but its still present making me feel that its me.

Brief Answer:
Foods/drinks/antiperspirant deodorants at night...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

1. There are many factors that would give the odor to your body, including clothes and keeping a good hygiene.

2. Another factor is the foods/drinks you consume. I advise to check out if you have started to consume a new aphrodisiac food/drink that would have increased your body odor. Avoid foods/drinks that would give a strong odor to your body.

3. Using antiperspirant deodorants at night is also important to keep the odor away.

4. Infection is also another cause, thus, urine analysis, blood count is advised to determine its presence.

5. Metabolic/hormonal problems can also cause excessive sweating including diabetes and/or thyroid problems. I advise to run diabetes testing and thyroid function tests to rule them out.

Hope it helped!

Brief Answer:
The caffeine pill could be another reason...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

The caffeine pill can be another reason. Look inside the ingredients and discuss it further with your doctor. I hope you'll see a dermatologist:)

Can discuss with him/her about my other options too.

All the best!
