kindly specify the problem after reading detailed answer....

Welcome at HCM.
I am Dr Saad Sultan and will be answering your query. I have read and understood your health concerns.
Kindly specify the term? Whether you were suffering from trichomoniasis or trichinosis??
Are you talking about vaginal odor?
As flagyl is a drug of choice for trichomoniasis and foul odor from vagina also present in this disease. So if you were having trichomoniasis and didn't get full recovery ( persistance of odour) then there is need for reassessment. Culture of vaginal swabs should be done and if positive then eradication therapy should be given again. Normally in cases of re infection , daily 2 g of metronidazole for five days in standard protocol...it will help in clearing infection.
On the other hand, trichinosis normally doesn't cause foul odor except excessive gas and bloating. The drug of choice for it is albendazole or mebendazole. Flagyl don't work well in this. For reinfection there is need to get full blood count, LDH and creatinine kinase CPK levels. And should be treated with albendazole or mebendazole.
Meet your physician and discuss about this.
Hope it helps

I do have a couple of other questions and they are dumb ones but I have no experience with STD's. Can you see this bacteria or only under a microscope? Do you disinfect/clean like normal or do you need to do something extra or use a specific product to clean bathroom areas, clothes, towels and sheets? Do you need to use antibacterial soap to clean the vaginal area or does that strip good bacteria away as well? I want to be able to attack this aggressively but haven't a clue how. Thank you in advance for your response.

Welcome at HCM
I appreciate your follow up.
No, bacteria can only be visualized under microscope......
You can use vaginal emollients for the vaginal hygiene...it will not affect vaginal normal flora much.
No, there are not such ways to disinfect the bathrooms or clothes specifically for the Trichomoniasis coverage. Just do normal routine cleaning.
The only way to treat it aggressively is via systemic therapy .
Hope it helps
