Question: my child is 15 months old. he got foul smelling yellowish rediss muck from ear.
what is to be done

Hello sir,
Your child's ear is infected.
Nothing to worry, it is a very common condition among children.
You have to see a doctor to confirm the diagnosis.
He will need a course of antibiotics preferably of the penicillin group.
He will also need ear drops.
Till then keep his ears dry and do not try to clean his ear with buds.

I visited dictor . he has given cefoprox 50, montair syrup and ciplox drops. is it ok

Hello sir,
Generally for acute infections of the ear, penicillin group of drugs work very well. Cephalosporins ( cefoprox ) is considered to be second line of treatment but many doctors prefer cephalosporins because they are better tolerated.
Ciplox ear drops are generally prescibed for longstanding infections of the ear and not for acute infections.
Montair syrup is prescribed for running nose.
