What Causes Frequent Bowel Movements Along With Excessive Flatulence?
Frequent stools and excessive flatulence needs further evaluation.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,
I have read your queries and will be answered by me.
First,if you are having frequent stools daily 5 times that doesn't necessarily mean that you have diarrhoea or loose motions.
The character and consistency of stool is important rather than frequency.
So,the important thing is to know the underlying cause of your frequent stools and excessive flatulence whether it is infective or inflammatory.
Here,Excessive flatulence is caused by mainly swallowing air during chewing, drinking, smoking and eating high carbohydrates diet.
Some abnormal causes are constipation, irritable bowel syndrome or gastroenteritis etc.
So,You should see gastroenterologist who will know about the various tests (mentioned below) after taking complete medical history and thoroughly clinical examination.
1) routine blood investigations,
2) liver function tests,
3) urine and stool examination for R/M and ova
4) ultrasound of abdomen
5) upper GI scopy (if required).
Treatment is mainly depend on underlying cause but I can suggest you some dietary measures which may help you.
1) Eat food which easily gets digested like rice, banana etc and chew food properly,
2) Avoid foods that may increase stool output such as fresh fruits and vegetables, prunes and caffeinated beverages.
3) Decrease concentrated sweets in your diet, such as juices, candy and soda, to help decrease amounts of water pulled into your intestine.
4) Reduce alcohol consumption (if you take).
5) Try incorporating more omega-3 fatty acids in your diet. These fats may have an anti-inflammatory effect. They are found in fish, including salmon, mackerel, herring and sardines.
Hope this will help you.
Regards,
