What Causes Frequent Bowel Movements With Blood After Switching Formula Feed?

Question: Hello Doctor,

We feed NAN pro1 till 6 months after which we started NAN pro2. 3 weeks back her motion frequency become more, so consulted doctor and based on doctor advice we provided ZeroLac for last 2 days. All of sudden we see bloody in his stool yesterday night morning. We have Concern.

Hello

Thanks for the query

The increased frequency and now blood mixed stool can be due to change in formula feed(formula allergy) or due to bacterial infection(causing dysentery).
The zerolac is lactose free soy based formula.Some baby can develop soy allergy.

I would suggest you to stop Zerolac and switch to some other formula like
Similac stage 2.
Consult your physician and get a stool test done to rule out any bacterial infection.
