What Causes Frequent Bowel Movements?
Thyroid tests , colonoscopy, adjust the dose...
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
History noted and re-read.
Your history suggests me to think that you are suffering from a condition called thyroiditis which gives hyperthyroidism.
Since your age is 45, I think you are suffering from from ''thyroiditis'' in which there is inflammation of the thyroid gland and will need to adjust the doses of Neomercazole and Ciplar as per the recent reports and your clinical features.
More motions which are not responding to any treatment is suggestive of further investigation.
Please repeat FreeT3, FreeT4 and TSH from a reputed laboratory, even though you have done this recently.
Also go for routine blood, urine and stool tests, as also tests for blood sugar, urea, creatinine, liver function tests.
Also needed is to go for ultrasonography and if necessary CT scan of abdomen to rule out other intestinal and intra-abdominal problems like tuberculosis, enlarged Lymph nodes and so on.
Colonoscopy helps to rule out the problems of large bowel which can lead to loose motions.
By finding the diagnosis and reason behind more motions, it will be easy and sure-shot to treat the problem you are suffering from.
Wishing you early recovery.
Please feel free to ask for more if you need to .
Stop milk and milk products.
Detailed Answer:
Well, thanks for your feedback. You must have stopped all such products which cause you an allergy.
You should stop them and never try them.
Feeling severe cold in cold weather is again a characteristic of a thyroid problem.
As i was alchololic since 15 years 2 years ago i this cause mild hepatomegaly
this is old CT
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Your CT scan dates back 5 May 2010.
Do you have any new recent Ultrasonography or CT?
If you have stopped alcohol and liver function tests & ultrasonography are normal there is nothing to worry about and you do not need any treatment.
A well balanced home made diet, No alcohol, no foods or beverages with added preservatives is sufficient to have a healthy liver.
Liver normal except the mild increase in size.

Thanks for your feedback.
This is a recent CT then.. It is showing mild hepatomegaly. It shows normal density parenchyma and no intrahepatic biliary radicle dilataton. This is more important.
If the liver function tests are normal do not worry. Stop all the things I mentioned earlier.
You may please repeat Ct , or follow with ultrasonography after one month and 3 months.
Need Doctor's prescription for medicine & investig
Detailed Answer:
Yes,
This is the main issue of concern, where we started the discussion.
Please get Fresh Free T3, Free T4 and TSH done. Stop Neomercazole for 2 days before the test. Also a stool test- Routine, microscopy, culture and sensitivity. This may give an idea. If all the investigation are within normal limits and the motions are instigated by factors like some food (You are allergic with cold and milk products and feel severe cold in cold weather as per history), beverages and mental stress and tensions, I can consider this to be a sort of IBS. Colonoscopy is done to rule out any pathology.
Also to consider a possibility of abdominal tuberculosis ( colonoscopy helps). It is not necessary that CT Scan shows everything. In our practice we have seen many patients of thyrotoxicosis suffering from extra-pulmonary TB ( the reason is hyper -circulation). You may please go for Quantiferon TB Gold test, Mantoux and X-ray chest.
Till then you can take tablets like Equirex or Librax. You need a ''' prescription of a local Doctor'''. Start as thrice daily and then adjust the doses. You may need as less as 1 at bedtime to 2 tablets thrice daily, Everybody's requirements are different.
Once the cause is found, treatment is an easy task.
All the best.
I can see you have got CT from Dist Hospital Betul.
Already posted the treatment above

Thanks for your feedback.
I hope you have stopped alcohol, spicy food, milk, milk products and rice.
If not - you have to stop them all. You know you are allergic to all these.
Thyroid report looks normal ( ''dates'' are not seen in the scanned report).
The prescription of 18 Oct 2011 shows 5 kg weight loss. Also shows you have taken Ayurvedic treatment and Mother is hypothyroid.
Just follow which has already been suggested.
continue doses/ no need of allergy tests
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
There is no need of any allergic tests. They do not help in solving the practical problem. And to tell you the fact- there are no good laboratories who can really tell the allergens ( practical problem seen in so many years-does not help also)
The best way is your own observation. Just stop the things which causes trouble.
Better take Neomercazole 5 mg twice day ( divide the dose). Please do the Free T3, Free T4 and TSH report again. I XXXXXXX be in a position to guide you better. ( the dates on the report you posted are not seen, please tell me the dates of the recent report. IF this is recent and as posted continue the same dose. Adding a tablet Ciplar 10 mg twice daily may help.
And I hope you have stopped alcohol.
Have a healthy life.
Good to know- do Quantiferon and Mantoux
Detailed Answer:
Thanks XXXXXXX for your feedback.
Nice to know the most recent report. Please continue Neomercazole for 1 month- Repeat the Thyroid function tests.
I hope you are taking librax thrice daily. Do not alter the dose too soon. Give it a time to act. Go slow, No hurry.
You can go for Quantiferon and Mantoux after a few days. The idea is to rule out Tuberculosis so that one by one the treatment becomes accurate, therapeutic and gives you complete relief to have a better life, Is not is?
No radio-iodine / regular check-up is sufficient.
Detailed Answer:
HI.
Sorry for the late, you know the Surgeon's life.
Yes, please go ahead the the lab tests for stool and urine. Please post the reports and specific symptoms you have about mucus and urine.
Please continue the medicines. The hyperthyroidism is already under treatment and control with the minimum amount of Neomercazole. So no need to worry about and go for regular treatment at the moment.
Radio-iodine is going to kill all the thyroid tissue and you will have to undergo ''life-long'' supplements of thyroxine. So this is not at all advisable.
at least for a month
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Good afternoon. Thanks for appreciation.
The doses are absolutely sufficient. Try to take tablet at 12 hours gap to be more effective and you can adjust the dose of Librax as per the response/ needs.
You can continue these doses for a long time, there are no side effects.
Now continue for at least for a month.
