What Causes Frequent Fluctuations In BP Levels And Dizziness In A Patient With COPD And Spine Disorders?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Hello,
My mother is having libile blood pressure. It ranges from 75/40 to 155/80. She is often dizzy when it is low. She takes MS-cotin and Zanflex for chronic pain but is has never caused a problem like this before. She was recently hospitalized for the hypotension but tests were all negative. They checked her thyroid, cortisol, dobutamine stress test, CBC, Chem12. Her only health issues are possible early COPD, cervical stenosis, lumbar surgery, DDD and an compression fracture in her T spine.
I would like to know what could be causing her blood pressure to be so low then up so high. She is constantly nauseated and dizzy frequently. Thank you

Brief Answer:
Degenerative disc disorder and meds can cause hypotension.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I would like to tell you that cause for dizziness and the hypotensive episode can be degenerative disc disorders and her current medicines.
She might be experiencing cervical spondylosis (which is a type of degenerative disc disorder) which can trigger headaches, dizziness with nausea and cause orthostatic hypotension.
It’s advisable for you to consult with a Cardiologist and an orthopedist for the same and ask if she needs any dose adjustments or alternative medicines for better care as hypotension crisis can be fatal also.
Hopefully, this information will answer your query.
