What Causes Frequent Itching Sensation On Vaginal Area?
Question: Hi Dr VPYK XXXXXXX Good morning,and hope you are doing fine.I I have frequent itching in my vaginal area.I maintain good hygiene,but I do not have any clue about it.I am a diabetic on metformin since 2 years.please help XXXXXXX

These symptoms of yours point towards genital tract fungal infections usually called monilial candidiasis/yeast infection.
They are predominantly more common in women who are in peri/postmenopausal women.
These infections sometimes occur even though one maintain adequate hygiene.
All you need is tab fluconazole 150 mg one a day for 5 days followed by tab metronidazole 750 mg single tablet inserted vaginally.
This will adequately eliminate all the infection.
Please note all these drugs should be taken only in presence of strict medical supervision.
