What Causes Frequent Leg Pain And Dull Discomfort At Night?

default
Posted on Wed, 3 Feb 2016
Question: Beginning about 2 months ago….I began having leg pain at frequent intervals….not always the same leg or same place in the leg….was worse at night when I tried to rest!) I made 4 visits to out local Physician….he did 2 series of blood work, 2 urine tests and 2 ultra sounds….and can find nothing. I am on 2 prescriptions for high blood pressure…..Losarten and Amlodipine. He had me quit taking the Amlodipine and put me on 20 mg. of Predisone of which I have finished this prescription. Seemed to help some but still having spasms at night now and then. Not a sharp pain….just a knowing dull uncomfortable feeling.

I once had serious varicose vein in my legs but have had surgery plus 2 sessions of injections and legs are now clear of noticible veins.

I went on line….and of course got the scare of my life-as the first thing that came back was possible “cancer” or blood clot in the lung!!!

If you have experienced this condition or have any suggestions, please advise.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Net deficiency

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you.
First , that is the deficiency of Internet search. Internet cannot corelate .
The symptoms of the query can be explained by something as simple as cramps and muscle weakness to cancer.
So I suggest don't be scared.

Second , I would like to see the reports before I make a full comment.
so please upload them.

And do you have any backache.
Does the pain come when walking and is relieved when resting.
Is there a Doppler study done recently?
I would need the response to above questions.

Consideringthe history of varicose veins , I will consider possibility of DVT first.

Please respond suitably for complete details .

There is no worse pain when walking…most of pain is when I lay down to nap or sleep at night.
No back pain….also had x rays of back, hips and legs. Also had ultra sounds of both legs. Did not have test you mentioned, that I know of. Will try to get results printed out from Clinic and send to you, if possible, as I am not too
“computer savy”!!!
Thank you for the quick response.
