What Causes Frequent Nasal Bleeding In A Child?
Question: hi my son is 2.2 years old his nose is bleeding very frequently twice this week ( for the first time on Monday - 27-5-2017) n then first time it was not much only clots but yesterday he was bleeding it stopped in 10 mins. he slept well there was not pain in the bleeding. we live in XXXXXXX it's summers here so temperature is around 40-45° but we keep him in AC n all. is there anything I sud be worried ??

Hi...I understand your concern. If it had been only once then I would have reassured you. But as it has happened twice and that too within a weeks time, I suggest you get him evaluated.
If I were his pediatrician I would do this -
1. Get his BP checked.
2. CBC/ PT and aPTT blood tests.
Approach your pediatrician regarding this.
If there are any further bleeds - then make him lie down flat and apply pressure on the side of the nostril where there is bleeding.
Meanwhile revert back to me with answers to below questions -
1. Is it always a single nostril or both?
2. Is there any prolonged bleeding tendency for trivial injuries in the past?
3. Does he have the habit of nose picking?

hi doctor last time it was from one nostril but this time I guess it was from both because by the time I saw it he already rubbed the blood on his hand cheeks n nose ( he was trying to wipe it) so I'm not sure but this time it was lot of blood . he has no history of nose bleeding does not even have a haplbit of picking his nose. but there was no pain n he was normal ( as he don't understand what is blood like) n after stopping the blood he was playing also. no signs of any uneasyness or pain. but it happened at 11 pm all AC was on he was also in AC since 8 pm. I'm not sure if this can happen anytime or what??
