What Causes Frequent Urination And Stomach Cramps Along With Late Period?
My GF completed her last period on 19th Nov. We had protected sex on 1 Dec. Her next period were supposed to between 15-20 Dec but still she is noting feeling anything about that. she has continue little pain in stomach and frequent urine and feeling cramps as well. we are afraid that she has got pregnant.
We both from narrow minded family and it would be a huge problem for us. she cant come out of her home so that i can take her to a doctor to consult over it.
what i can do is buy her a CIPLA MTP KIT as i searched and read on internet. Please let me know if it would be safe for her. she is 23 years old and slim by body 5'6".
if its safe, is it under the right time (duration of pregnancy) to take it and what is the right way to take it.
if she take 1 tablet of Mifepristone and got period then is it require to take all the other 4 tablets of misoprostol or it should be followed by 1 or 2 ? and by how much gap...
Also let me know if there is any natural way to abort it like i have read that putting parsley leaves into vagina and having citrus fruits can abort pregnancy.
Please suggest urgently.
Confirm the pregnancy first by HCG
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I understand your concern.
At first, get her tested for pregnancy with urine pregnancy kit or blood HCG test initially before thinking of termination..This may not be a pregnancy as you fear..
Let me answer your questions however
1)MTP kit is effective for terminating pregnancies of lesser than 7-8 weeks duration..Tablets should be taken as per the instructions on the kit.
2)Only minimal bleed or spotting sets in after taking mifepristone.
Usually the 4 tablets of misoprostol are needed to be taken orally or kept vaginally, after an interval of 24 to 48 hours of mifepristone intake.
3)There are no safe and effective natural ways to terminate a pregnancy.
I strongly suggest you to get proper advice from a gynecologist before any intervention for the best of her health.
Note:MTP kit can cause serious problems like heavy bleeding etc if not taken under expert gynecologist's supervision and is illegal too..
Thanks for your reply. however it raised more questions in my mind.
i read about abortion in XXXXXXX and below is what i found on wiki -
"Abortion in XXXXXXX is legal only up to twenty weeks of pregnancy under specific conditions and situations which are broadly defined as:
the continuance of the pregnancy would involve a risk to the life of the pregnant woman or of grave injury of physical or mental health, or
there is a substantial risk that if the child were born, it would suffer from such physical or mental abnormalities as to be seriously handicapped."
so can you please tell me how its illegal in my case?
Second can you tell me from which day the pregnancy would be counted? is it from her last period date 19th Nov or the day when we had intercourse 1 dec?
i have seen that MTP kits are easily available in medical stores without doctors slip.
So please pay attention on this question and answer me in simple, non confusing words as i am too worried about her whether it would safe or not.
i can go for it - YES/NO
Does it bleed so badly in every case?
And again, does all 4 misoprostol are required to take after
Unsupervised termination of pregnancy not safe
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for following up.
1)Yes,Medical termination of pregnancy(MTP) is legal up to 20 weeks as per MTP act 1971 but after getting an expert opinion.
i.e less than 12 weeks of pregnancy --- opinion from single medical expert enough.Opinion of second doctor is required for terminating pregnancies more than 12 weeks of pregnancy.
2)Pregnancy duration is calculated from the first day of last menstrual period(LMP) in her case 19th November if its first day .
3)It may be available over the counter(OTC) but its a prescription medicine actually.Unsupervised use of any pregnancy termination kit is not advisable.
4)It would not be safe for her without an expert's opinion..You can't go for it by yourself.
5) No,it won't bleed very badly in every case.Success and safety mainly depends on the period of gestation(pregnancy) and healthy state of the patient.
6)Usually 4 tablets are required. But efficacy differs with individuals and the dose can be reduced based on the outcome at doctor's discretion.
Hope i have answered your query.Further queries are welcome
