What Causes Frequent Urination Post Intake Of Amoxycillin For Cold And Cough?
Question: Dear sir, My wife is suffering from cough and xold due to which she was preaxribed for amoxycilin capsule. After taking it she has a problem of very frequent urination (within 2 min) after taking any medicine. Please advice

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your wife is facing problem of frequent urination after taking Amoxycillin prescribed for cold and cough .
This is due to drug induced Cystitis which is known side effect f this drug .
Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis to rule out any other cause for frequent urination ,
Change the antibiotics to either Cephalosporin or Althrocin and switch on to appropriate antibiotic as per culture report .
Ensure to drink more water to keep urine dilute.
Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

dear Dr. the problem is not only with this antibiotic. whenever she takes some high dosage of medicine the problem start occurring, May it be antibiotic or any other. she has frequent urination in every 10 sec.

Does she have other urinary symptoms like burning urination and urgency for urination ?
It is mostly due to drug induced Cystitis and can be confirmed by doing urine culture.
If she has urgency can give her Darifenacin once daily along with urine alkalizer thrice daily .
