What Causes Frequent Urination While On Prednisone?
Question: Wife is taking prednisone and hydroxy zine pamoate for hives she is urinating frequently she only has one kidney?
Brief Answer:
probably safe...
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
frequent urination does not seem relevant. Hydroxyzine may cause urinary retention (difficulty to void) and corticosteroids cause water retention (keep more water in the body). Using hydroxyzine may pose problems only if the renal function is seriously impaired (GFR lower than 50ml/min). Having one kidney is not enough data to judge renal function.

Wife had cat scan with XXXXXXX possibly she's voiding the urinary tract urine has a strong odor she did not have this problem until she came home from hospital and started taking the prescribed medical medication
Brief Answer:
a urinary tract infection?
Detailed Answer:
The CT scan does not seem relevant. The XXXXXXX is not supposed to cause increased frequency. Increased frequency with a strong odor may indicate urinary tract infection. A urinalysis may confirm or exclude it.
In such a case antibiotic treatment would be required.
