What Causes Frequent Urination With Larva Eggs Attached To Anus?
Almost 18 months on, my daughter continues to experience the following symptoms which appear to have a cycle: nausea, heartburn, bad breath, middle stomach ache, foul trumpeting wind from back passage, waking to pass urine several times during the early hours and she has dark circles under her eyes. I have spotted these eggs around her anus when her symptoms are at their worst on at least 3 occasions during this time. Every time I treat her (and family) with Ovec, I also treat my daughter with the second Ovec pill two weeks following. I notice a difference straight away following the second pill (two weeks later), she no longer wakes in the night to pass urine and she has a better appetite and does not complain so much of feeling nausea. Life returns to normal for her and she looks well and has no dark circles under her eyes. She is well for approximately two months then her symptoms appear again. More recently, since January she has told me she brings up little vomits at school. I have now asked her to try and spit it into a sample pot to show mummy.
I have been back to the GP several times. In October 2012 we suspected XXXXXXX had norovirus, she vomited for 10 days once a day and it was mostly phlegm with no food content, red circles under eyes and lower face red rash, no diarrhoea just raisin like stools very dark, high temperature of 38 plus degrees. This ended with the symptoms that appear regularly today, trumpeting foul flatulence, nausea, nighttime waking to pee (sometimes nothing comes out), dark circles under eyes and decreased appetite apart from anything sweet like chocolate which she devours. We had stool samples taken in April 2012 which do not show evidence of parasites/ova, though I did not provide her whole stool as it would not go in the pot. We also had full blood tests taken in 2012 and more recently in XXXXXXX 2014 ruling out h-pylori and inflammation and I believe coeliac disease.
My GP feels there is nothing further he can help with and so suggested he put me in touch with a Consultant Paediatrician. I took XXXXXXX along to a female Paediatrician. on Friday 16th May 2014. I provided her with a stool sample of that day and urine sample. We left with an open appointment.
May I ask you, reading my account, does it sound like XXXXXXX may have systemic problems connected to intestinal parasites picked up from St XXXXXXX back in 2011?
Systemic disease with co-morbid infestation
Detailed Answer:
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. As a father of a kid, I really understand your concern. It should have been terrible to go on like this without answers showing up and the kid suffering. I have few questions and suggestions for you -
Questions:
1. What was her birth weight and current age?
2. What was her weight before this started 2 months back?
3. What is her current weight?
4. Does she have any other serious infections till now?
5. Is there any family history of irritable bowel disease or inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative colitis/ Crohn's) or celiac disease?
Suggestions:
1. She needs work up for inflammatory bowel disease?
2. She needs work up for immunodeficiency?
3. She might require a upper GI endocscopy and colonoscopy and biopsy.
Some thought processes -
1. If it is purely worm infestation, it won't go on for months together like this.
2. Dark circles around the eyes, coming in cycles and going off is more suggestive of a systemic pathology like inflammatory bowel disease, rather than a local cause like worm infestation.
3. Inflammatory bowel diseases (Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's disease) are notorious for delay in diagnosis unless there is high index of suspicion.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
