What Causes Frequent Urination?
Recurrent urinary tract infection and Benign Pros
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank You for consulting HealthcareMagic!
Two things come into my mind based on the information you have given. Recurrent urinary tract infection and Benign Prostatic hyperplasia.
Recurrent UTI can be treated by putting you on sensitive antibiotic. This sensitive antibiotic can be known by undergoing Urine Culture and sensitivity test.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia can be found on ultrasound but you mentioned that USG was normal. However, few other differential diagnosis like kidney stones, tumors etc can be found out on CT scan. Discuss with your treating Urologist who did physical examination (unlike me) about the need of this in your case.
Stay healthy and thank you for consulting! You can contact me again anytime, if you need clarifications or further assistance in future. Kindly rate the answer if you are satisfied.
chronic prostatitis are very difficult to treat
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
As all other causes have been excluded by your doctor and Prostatitis is confirmed, following up with him for it's treatment is good. However, some cases of chronic prostatitis are very difficult to treat particularly is they are non bacterial.
If bacterial, identifying the specific organism, you may need to give "several specimens" of urine including initial stream, mid-stream, and after a prostate massage.
Discuss about all the above with your treating doctor.
Take Care!
