What Causes Frequent Urination?
Question: We are on holiday and have just arrived from Moab to Los Angeles. Last night my husband was continually going to the bathroom but when he got there he didn't need to go (pass urine). He has been so tired all day and still going to the bathroom.

So your husand feels like having frequent urination ( urge) but when he reach bathroom, he doesnt feel like passing urine.
Before answeing, i would like to know if he has diabetes or any other illness? Any history of prostate enlargement in the past?
This symptom could be due to number of reasons.
1) Urinary tract nfection.
2) Prosate infection or prostate enlargement
3) ?Diabetes
4) Stones.
These are few of the main reasons of your husband's symptoms.
The first tests i would suggest are,
a) Urine routine examination
b)PSA ( prostate Specefic antigen)
c) Fasting blood glucose ( FBS)
d) Ultrasound scan of pelvis including prostate.
I realize that you are on a holiday and getting these tests may not be easy. However, it is not difficult to get atleast a urine routine examination, PSA and FBS. They are widely available. Ultraosund can wait ( but i would sugest to do it on reaching home).
I am sorry to hear that all this is happenng while on a hoiday and that may take away the fun. But these tests wont take that much time.
