What Causes Frequent Vomiting?
Question: My 17 year old son seems to vomit frequently, with no fever or other signs of flu! But he loves popcorn, we made him lay off the popcorn for a couple of days and last night he had some again and then this morning he threw up again! What could be the cause of this?
Brief Answer:
gastritis
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your question.
Does he have vomitting only with popcorn or other times as well? It could be that the popcorn is irritating his stomach causing a type of gastritis. The popcorn kernels have sharp edges and can be irritating to the stomach in some people. It is probably best if he avoid popcorn if the only time he has these symptoms is when he eats the popcorn. He can take anti-vomiting medicine.
If he has symptoms at other times he should see a doctor for further evaluation.
Good health to you.
