Question: Hi, my 19 yr old daughter just returned from freshman year at Purdue and has been experienceing frequent (thrice a week) throwing up after eating. She is not inducing this, it just happens.
She seems to be very nervous, short tempered and ALWAYS pecking at her phone, taking pictures and sending to her XXXXXXX boyfriend, sorority sisters etc... She has few interests, does not read or seem to have much balance. Going out with her friends is the only thing she is interested in. She is very social, pretty and weight seems normal.

Brief Answer:
It may be stress induced

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

Being nervous, short tempered could be the cause for vomiting as she returned from her freshman year and may be finding it difficult to adjust back to family settings after spending enough time.

This seems most likely considering pattern of vomiting thrice a week. When there is underlying conflict the somatic symptoms present in a peculiar way. We also need to understand that if it is food induced it must be more frequent than thrice a week.

I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.
