Question: Thank u. I started with a gassy stomach 2 days ago. Since then I have had a lot of phlegm in my throat that is causing me to gag and dry heave for the past two days, especially at night. All I get up is white phlegm. I don't seem to have a fever but I feel very weak, have no energy and can't sleep.

Brief Answer:
Supportive care,

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Alot of phlegm and mucus with history of gastric discomfort is common and a side effect. Just needs supportive care , salt water gargles, use of antacids and treatment of gastric discomfort. Modifying diet and lifestyle. These throat symptoms are not due to throat or airways but a side effect of bowel discomfort most likely GERD which needs diet and lifestyle modifications.

Eat small frequent meals, delay lying down after meal. take more fluids, avoid spices, fatty and dairy foods and see if it helps. Say no to beverages, alcohol and soda etc.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
