What Causes Golden Colored Leak From Nose?
Detailed answer....
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understood your concern very well.
Although You haven't mentioned when did the last time it happened but still a yellow or golden coloured leak from your nose is either a nasal infection or it can be a cerebrospinal fluid also.
It is very difficult to tell as nothing correctly can be told now.
The best is to go to an ENT and get your nose and sinus examined and also get a CT or MRI done.
If the last episode was long back and if you don't have any symptoms like nasal allergy or cold or any persistent headache, then you may wait and watch and think of going to ER as and when next episode occurs, however I would wish you to go to an ENT now and get investigated and see whether something can be detected now.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me or any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
In the last 9 years I have had no head cold or bronchial pneumonia. Previous to the 9 years I would get ill every winter w/ bronchial pneumonia. I just have to blow my nose every morning and that is all. Sometimes a tiny bit of blood & scab or some green colored mucus but that is not often.
If it was cerebrospinal fluid would it be something I should worry about and mention to the the MRI person and the Ent person?
If your last episode was 20 years back and if there are no nasal issues for past 9 years, then I don't think you gave to do anything now.Although a cerebrospinal leak is something which is serious but since the episode took place 20 years back, there is no reason to get worried now.If it was a CSF leak 20 years back, then the leak has definitely been plugged.
I think you can simply forget the whole issue.
Thanks
