What Causes Green Mucus Discharge From Nose?
Question: I've been passing some hard and green mucusy stuff from my sinuses. I've been doing irrigation ocasionly. Is there sny danger or should I see an ear nose and throat doctor?
Brief Answer:
Seems to be due to rhinitis
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through the details provided. The greenish discharge from your nose is likely to be due to rhinitis or a viral infection of the nose. However, sinusitis needs to be ruled out. I would insist on getting an X-Ray of the skull-Occipito mental view done. Based on the findings further interventions can be planned.
I would insist you to take steam inhalation. Water in the form of vapor would reach deep inside and would help in diluting the secretions and would thus provide relief. Also take some antiallergic like cetirizine once daily for the next few days.
Let me know if you have anything specific to know from me.
Regards
