Question: My 40-year old daughter just informed me that she has a greenish-blue vag drainage. She said that the discharge has no odor. it is thin rather than thick. She originally had vag "hurt" but now her vag itches. This has been going on for 2 days. She has compromised immune system for many years. She has no fever.
Brief Answer:
The discharge is due to infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.
Is your daughter sexually active? If so then the discharge could be due to sexually transmitted disease called trichomoniasis.
If she is not sexually active then it could be some bacterial infection. Other cause for such discharge is foreign body in the vagina. It is important that she consults doctor for examination and treatment.
I hope this is helpful. If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama

my daughter has 1 sexual partner for a year now. he lives with us. she denies FB in vagina. she said that she looked up greenish blue vag discharge and came across highly likelihood of HPV or pseudomonas infection. are these real possibilities??
Brief Answer:
Pseudomonas can cause such vaginal discharge.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Pseudomonas is a bacterial infection. This can cause such discharge. Since she has compromised immune system, she can get this infection. HPV infection usually does not cause vaginal discharge. Vaginal swab for culture sensitivity test will confirm the diagnosis.
If you have further concerns do write to me.
