What Causes Growing Knot On Lower Back?

Question: I was in a car accident about 4 years ago in which the air bag in my seat deployed. It hit me on my lower back right above the left side of my rear. The air back left a huge bruise and a knot. At the time the ER Dr told Mr that in time it would go away, however it hasnt. Now, I just had my son and the pregnancy had some weight gain with it, and the knot has double in size. It doesn't cause me any discomfort, but it is an eye sore and I am moderately concerned as to why its still there.
Brief Answer:
Sof tissues ultrasound should be done.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Can you please attach a photo of it?
In this area very often hematoma appears (blood collection). Large hematoma can stay in the soft tissues for a very long time. 4 years seems unbelievable for hematoma to last, but it is possible.
And this is the only explanation which can connect the lump with the accident.
It is also possible that you have some sort of benign soft tissues lesion like lipoma.
I suggest you to have soft tissues ultrasound. It will answer the question about the lump nature.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
