Question: Have been really tired (night before last slept 14 hours), hair is thinning, gaining weight, extremely dry skin, scattered memory, loss of concentration, very irregular menstrual cycle. Just went to the doctor and Thyroid panel and CBC came out in normal ranges. I am 43. Could it be hormones? Is there a blood test I can have done?

Brief Answer:
Thyroid

Detailed Answer:
Sorry to note your symptoms.

It would be worthwhile knowing that the CMP is normal too.

CMP is a simple blood test that comprises
liver function tests
kidney function tests
electrolytes
calcium
glucose

It does not require fasting.

When you say the thyroid panel was normal, are you sure the TSH and free T4 came back normal?

There is another hormonal problem called Cushings syndrome in which there is excess of cortisol in the blood. It can result in symptoms similar to what you have. Consider getting tested for this. There are various ways to check for this and a midnight saliva cortisol sample is one such method.
