What Causes Hard Mass Near Uterus?

Question: I had a yearly female exam yesterday and they found a small, hard mass in the front of my uterus. The doctor says I must have an ultrasound as soon as possible. The most un nerving thing was when she did the pap test, I had a burning sensation throughout my pelvic area. What would cause that? The doctor said the mass could be anything but, since I previously had cervical pre cancer ( dysplasia ) , a few years ago, I'm a little worried. Couple that with cancer running through my family heavily. Still waiting on pap results and ultrasound.

Hard lump in the front of uterus may be from fibroid, ovarian swelling or lymph nodes. Cancers is a possibility too. But your other symptoms are not very convincing to consider cancer as the first possibility now. Pain during pelvic exam can occur in few women especially if they were conscious about exam and kept muscles tight. Moreover cancers from cervical region present with bleeding. Cervical area appears unhealthy on examination. Since there are no such features, you can keep your hopes high. Wait for your PAP report and get ultrasound done. Hope I answered your query. I noticed my jeans feeling right around the waist a week or so ago. I remember being surprised by it because my period had ended a few days before. I'd had a couple of days of spotting right after my period. But, I'm 43 so, I thought it was just the start of menopause. I've had low back pain but that could be my mattress....

But since your doctors felt a hard mass it is worthwhile to pursue tests to exclude other conditions. Spotting after a period in one or two cycles is common , most common cause is hormonal variations. If your symptom persists then need to get examined. Hope this helps you.
