What Causes Hard White Area Around Wound On Lip?
Question: I had gotten a busted lip real deep playing basketball and had two stitches put in my lip and now the area around where it was loose is turning hard white is that normal

I am so sorry to hear about this wound. White area around the wound may represent reduce blood flow to this area following the accident. This is unlikely to represent an infection and I would most likely think it is normal in the healing process. The area becoming hard is usually expected due to an inflammatory reaction after injuries.

Last question is it ok for me to put vaseline on my lips or some type of petroleum jelly
