Brief Answer:
please start meds to get well & take care of kids

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Your query suggests that you still have atleast anxiety component remaining apart or along with the depression. Having three kids to take care of..espically the infant is a task in itself.

The night sweats, day time hot flashes can be seen commonly in anxiety. However, you have not mentioned the duration of your symptoms anywhere so that I could have correlated with the implant ( which can also have an accelerating effects in increasing anxiety and depression).

I think that you need to go back on antidepressants for now..they will help you a lot..if not for you , then atleast for good developement of your kids..they need you healthy now..

Headaches are looking like migraines, they can increase in frequency and intensity in anxiety and also in case of stress and lack of sleep.

Certain drugs like - sertraline or dothiapine or venelafaxine are good for both headaches and anxiety .

Also, do get your blood pressure checked and get thyroid and B12 levels and treat them if low. It helps a lot.

For SOS headache relief- naxdom (a combination of naproxen sodium and domperidone) helps . You can also try sibelium.
Try to avoid tea, coffee and other stimulating drinks as they will increase your problem.
take more walnuts and more water..

P.S.- swelling of fingers in night dosent fit with any of the other symptoms. You should get renal function tests and it can also be due to cold..

Please feel free to ask ore queries to clarify any doubts.
Have a speedy recovery.

I have had the implant since 18th if september when my daughter was born i think my hands are down to carpel tunnel syndrome as ive had this condition for a few yearsvbut lately it has become more frequent. I was just concerned about the headaches as they have been lasting for more than a few days

Brief Answer:
change to non hormonal implant; check BP

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

carpal tunnel syndrome can lead to swelling in fingers but then it is not related to implant; (and there must be pain as well.).

If the other problems of hot flashes and cold sweats are there only after the implant then you should ideally go for non hormonal contraceptive choices ( which are now widely available). Coz hormonal contraceptives are commonly seen to lead to such chemical imbalance and deterioration of mood as well.

Even if you think its carpal tunnel, there is no harm in getting tsh levels to check thyroid status; both coz it can increase soft tissue in wirst and increase in carpal features and can cause other symptoms which you suffer from.

For headaches, as I mentioned before, see if there is a temporal relation with implant or not..if they correspond to sleeping issues or stress...headaches tend to increase with all of these.. dont worry, I dont think anything major is behind them. Headaches tend to linger on even for two to three weeks sometimes, so dont worry..they eventually go when treated. Try having a good sleep, some avoidance of tea/coffee and take Naxdom pain killer as soon as you develop headache to stop it there and then..trying to tolerate it for sometime will only make it constant.
Do get blood pressure checked (headaches are common with high BP).
Presently I dont feel you need any regular medicine for headache..try SOS managment first.

Hope the reply is useful for you.
Feel free to ask more questions for clarification.
