Question: my grandson is ill with odd symptoms and I am worried
he started with a headache and congestion in his nose, 5 days ago. He went to chest congestion which may be pneumonia or his asthma, stopped running a fever but has a terrible headache and just vomited.
yesterday he was prescribed an antibiotic Zithromax. His fever is gone but I am worried--he NEVER complains and he also said his arm hurts but that seems to have stopped. H has been to his peditircian on Thursday, a clinic on sat and his asthma doctor on monday
he is only 7

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
I do understand your concern and apprehension.
If the breathing is not rapid, child is eating well and there is absence of fever then there to be no cause of concern. The symptoms are due to respiratory tract infection which is quite common in children. If he is an asthamatic, occurrence of respiratory infection can aggravate asthma by increasing airway reactivity. The respiratory infection usually last on an average of 7 to 10 days.
I would also suggest you the following which will definitely help
1. Steam inhalation : preferably using electronic steamer. 10 minute of steam inhalation each session thrice a day. It will decrease the nasal and pharyngeal congestion.
2. Continue antibiotic.
3. Decoction : to a cup of milk + 20 tulsi leaves + 1 spoon of turmeric + 2 gm of fresh ginger + 2 black pepper + 2 spoon of sugar. Bring it to boil. Filter it and let the child have it warm . Tulsi is Holy Basel ( optional of available).
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Take care
