Posted on Wed, 2 Jul 2014
Question: Hello Doctor,

Yesterday evening I went for swimming and practice some somersaults in water without diving. During which I inhaled some water in my nose. But after some swimming I was fine. Later in the evening when I was about to sleep, I was having some headache and feeling to stretch my neck left and right. But any ways I had a okie sleep in the night, but in the morning and now also I am feeling similar headache. I am feeling in the top & back side of the head. I have not taken any medicine other than applying some balm while sleeping. Also I am feeling a little cold in comparison to other people around me, but there is no fever.

Brief Answer:
Could be a mild upper respiratory tract infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your details, and would like to reassure you that these do not suggest any serious neurological disease.

The most likely cause could be an upper respiratory tract infection, caused by a viral fever. You should get better in a few days.

As of now, you may take paracetamol 650 mg (Dolo 650) about 3 times a day for relief of headache.

I hope my reply has helped you.

I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.

Best wishes,
