Im a 35 female with three kids . Today i had a long day filled with activities . In the evening i felt abit tired and felt pain in my chest and head , the feeling was sharp and more like as if im in a race . Then in between i got fast heartbeats and sometimes lightheaded . It took few hours to settle and for my body to relax and go back to normal . Why does this happen ? And whats the way to prevent it ? Thanks
Seems to be related to blood. Needs proper workup!!!
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for consulting and your trust in HCM means a lot to me as a Physician.
I have completely reviewed your health query, and well realize all those concerns. Being your physician, I will take care all of them today and will extend my expertise to solve the problems.
I want to add the details about your issues. Such kind of symptoms happen in moms who have had a delivery in the recent past. What is the age of your youngest baby??
Actually, if there is anemia and due to that there is no proper ventilation and perfusion in the lungs, less oxygen is delivered to the body tissues especially muscles and weakness is very common symptom. Fatigue and shortness of breath is also seen in some moms. Dizziness can be a sign but it is more likely to be in case if you have a blood pressure issu. Are you hypertensive or hypotensive?? Are you taking any medications regularly? What is your blood pressure and pulse rate usually (if you checked ever with that).
Another option is anxiety that is common after baby is delivered and may linger on for longer times too.
Diabetes mellitus is also a cause of such symptoms.
I suggest you to go to your primary care physician and discuss these points with him. He will do a general physical examination and will do thorough blood work to rule out the causes mentioned above.
If anemia is the cause usually we prefer to give Iron and folic acid supplements and this covers the deficiency. Some patients have vit. B12 and Vit D deficiency and due to that such symptoms appear. Your physician after checking the levels of these vitamins and serum electrolytes, will augment the treatment accordingly. You will get better soon.
Keep a healthy and balanced diet and take plenty of water to drink. Proper rest is also needed for fast recovery.

Thanks for your answer. I will do blood check up to rule out the things that you have stated . My youngest id 4 months and a half . I had HBP during and after labour so i was given medication , but i was weaned off them recently . Could you please explsin how could bp might be the reason of dizziness as well ? Thanks
Dizziness can be from low BP or low Hemoglobin or Red blood cells!!!

I appreciate your follow up query and happy to assist you.
You need the lab work done as soon as possible. Blood pressure when gets down, or very high it may cause dizziness.
Let me explain the logic behind the relationship between blood pressure and dizziness while remaining as simple as I can.
Our brain has mechanisms to sense how much pressure is there in the blood vessels. If there is a change in blood pressure (either very low or very high) our brain senses this pressure change. It tries to correct this change in blood pressure. Why? because all body organs can work at an optimal blood pressure.
Now, if brain's systems fail to maintain normal blood pressure, then first impact that our body has to face is; brain loses the ability to work at its best. It is called altered sensorium or dizziness.
Blood sugar levels when get down, it also may cause malaise and dizziness. Same is the case when someone has low red blood cell counts or hemoglobin levels are down.
You should take a healthy diet and a diet rich in iron (Kiwi, avocado, green leafy vegetables, nuts, milk etc). Keep yourself hydrated. It is most probably due to low levels of Iron in body causing hemoglobin and red blood cell anomalies.
