He had the shunt and then developed nausea. headache, pain behind his eyes, photo sensitivity. Called his surgeon who got him a second cat scan and adjusted the valve in the shunt from 130 to 168. How long will it take for the pressures to return to a more normal level and when will the symptoms get better.?

Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Need not worry, headache , nausea, photosensitivity etc are common non serious complications seen soon after VP shunt.
It takes a minimum of a week for the intracranial pressure to normalize, sometimes even more depending on the cause of the same.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
Regards,
A week or more
