The herbal medicines do not undergo any clinical and toxicological studies and they may be working mainly on the faith of the individual. High doses of fat soluble vitamins A & D can produce toxicity in high doses. Their blood levels can be tested and should be stopped if the levels are high. Water soluble vitamins like B & C are less of a problem as these are excreted in the urine.
I agree with you that she should not be taking too many herbal supplements as some of them have adverse interaction.
If she is anxious and has no history of asthma she can take a small dose of Inderal ( propranolol) like 10mg once or twice a day to control her heart rate.
