What Causes Headache While Screaming And Vertigo?
Question: hi, is it possible that I damaged blood vessels in my brain from childbirth? my head hurts if i scream, and I think I have vertigo, but am not sure...all this has happened since I had a natural childbirth 2 years ago. I also have done cocaine in the past, but have quit for four years now
Brief Answer:
Extremely rare
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
Thanks for the query. This would be an extremely rare occurence; it could be seen in women who already have brain tumors, or an undiagnosed aneurysm or an arteriovenous malformation, but it would not be subtle at all and would present with stroke symptoms early on. Thus, other causes of headache should be entertained, the most common being tension headaches and migraines, both which can be exacerbated by vibration and pressure changes (eg. when screaming).
Hope this helps, wish you the best,

ok, thanks I can rule that out, about the other, when I went back to work, I do a lot of lifting(20-50 lbs) and walking, I would get the feeling of imbalance like I was going to fall over while I was walking. its gotten better now, 2 yrs later, but I still get feelings like i'm going to pass out after exerting myself ie: on my coffee breaks, or when i'm really tired, or sick.
Brief Answer:
Self regulation of blood pressure
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow up. In my clinical practice, the most common cause of these complaints of near passing out is related to inadequate reflex response to control the blood pressure with position changes, or sometimes when being upright for too long, or sometimes after a painful or adverse stimulus. It is called a vasovagal reaction; most important things are keeping well hydrated, consider wearing compression stockings and when symptoms arise, do counter maneuvers AT THE SITE like crossing legs, or squatting all the way down to prevent true fainting.
Hope that helps, if no further queries you can feel free to close discussion and rate my service accordingly.
Wish you the very best!
