What Causes Headaches Along With Decreased Range Of Motion In Neck?
Question: I'm doing my school research work)- a woman complains of headache, decreased range of motion in her neck. She also complains of vertigo, hearing loss in one ear, profuse sweating, uncontrollable eye movement. She had a motor vehicle accident 3 days ago. what exams would you recommend and why. What should be ruled out. How would you distinguish between these symptoms. I thought it may be whiplash or to rule out cervical spinal injury or rule out pharyngitis.
Brief Answer:
I will advise to rule out menieres disease and then cervical injury.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case.
I will advise to rule out menieres disease and then cervical injury.
CT scan will rule out ear ossicle injury which lead to hearing loss and uncontrolled eye movement.
Accidental injury can lead to spine injury leading to restricted neck movement and headache
For menieres Videonystagmography , Vestibular evoked myogenic potentials testing can be done.
In patient CT or MRI brain and spine should be done for spine injury.
Hope this answers your query.
Have a great day.
