Brief Answer:
Does he take coffee, drugs? What does he do?

Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks so much for this query.

I have reviewed this information fully. However, it is not enough to pinpoint what the exact problem is and suggest a plan. I will ask a few more questions to see if we can resolve it here. If it is not possible, I will recommend that he sees a doctor for further evaluation and testing.

1. Is this the first time he has experienced this?
2. Any idea if he takes drugs/alcohol?
3. Is he on any medications?
4. Is he a student? What does he do?
5. Is he having any other issues that you didn't mention?
6. Has there been any other changes in his life recently: Job, residence, relationships?

I hope to hear back from you. I will factor responses in and provide a personalized and helpful response to you.

Waiting....

Yes this the first time he has experienced this.
Yes he drinks, not sure about drugs.
I am not sure if he is on meds but don't believe so.
He is a student and has been away at school.
other issues-has cut way back on eating, lost roughly 20 lbs, is stressed bc he was in a major he could not keep up with, joined a fraternity where they haze (initiate) pretty heavily and all of these symptoms seemed to coincidentally begin after he got into the fraternity but are still continuing even though he is now at home for summer

Brief Answer:
He has to slow down with these tasks!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I think your son is overwhelmed. He should slow down and take just as much as he can manage conveniently. While taking on challenging stuffs could be a way to improve on output, excessive challenges rather cause so much dysfunction. This seems to be what your son is experiencing. Let him talk with his counselor and reduce the tasks. He should also refrain from constantly flashing back to these challenges as they continue to affect him even after stopping.

I wish him well and let me know how this goes.
