Brief Answer:
Hearing aid advised.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Post stapedectomy it is common to have hearing loss and vertigo.
It is a late complication of the surgery. Occurs because of perilymphatic leak, damage to the hair cells during the surgery.

I have gone through the reports. It's clear that the hearing loss has progressed.

If I were your treating doctor, I would have advised for usage of hearing aid. CIC and BTE as per the audiology evaluation.

Hope my answers have helped you. Pleased to help you further.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Hearing aid is the only option.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for your follow up query. Hearing aid is the only option for both the ears.
I would not recommend surgery for other ear.
BTE - behind the ear hearing aid.
CC - IN the canal hearing aid.
Stem cell implant us still under research.

Thank you very much

Sorry for my long questions

Is my condition due to the doctor mistake during the surgery ?
And im using the hearing loss pills .. Are they effective or can help restore hair cells ?

Will the tinnutis and the vertigo be permanent ?

Thanks again

Brief Answer:
Hearing loss pills are not effective.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for your follow up query.
Hearing loss can be a sequelae of the disease or due to surgery.
It's difficult to say it's because of surgeons mistake.
Because this is a microscopic surgery, which needs skillful hands and precise workmenship.
Hearing loss pills are not proven to help restore hearing. Vertigo and tinnitus may be on and off with remission and recurrence.
Vestibular rehabilitation exercises will surely help for your vertigo.
Hope this helps. Thanks.
