Brief Answer:
Cardiac examination

Detailed Answer:
Hello, madame! Thank you for your question and welcome to HCM. I read your query.

Well, at the age of 64 years old, this problem could be related with cardiovascular diagnoses or anxiety attack. Therefore, I would first recommend you to pursue the organic route as a culprit (with tests for cardiac problems) for these symptoms. An EKG should be done, to assess the conduction and electrical systems of the heart, in resting state. An echocardiogram should also be carried out, to assess the valvular system of the heart, the size of its chambers and function of the heart muscle. If seen appropriate, a 24-hour Holter rhythm monitoring of the heart should be done, which is a machine connected to you, and is basically an EKG spun throughout 24 hours. When these are carried out, and if nothing wrong is found, an Echo Doppler of the carotid arteries (neck vessels) is recommended to be undertaken. It would be good that the first two tests (EKG and echocardiogram) will be carried out as soon as possible, in a healthcare facility nearby.

I hope I was helpful. If you have further questions, I would be happy to help. Please close the discussion and rate my answer, if you do not.

Best regards,
Dr. Meriton
