What Causes Heart Palpitations After Taking Percocet?
No direct adverse effect on heart due to percocet.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Percocet is having combination of oxymoron and acetaminophen.
Both are painkillers.
None of them is having adverse effect directly on heart.
But they can cause mood swings, palpitations, tachycardia etc.
These are mood related side effects.
So mood swings, palpitations and tachycardia can perceive as fluttering feeling in in heart.
But better to get done ecg and 2d echo to rule out actual heart related diseases.
If these two are normal than no need to worry much.
Such mood related side effects are common in old age and with higher dose.
So please let me know your age and amount of percocet you are taking in a day, so that I can guide you better.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
And I have been taking 6-8 pills 5/325 in a 24 hour period, mostly 8 pills
