What Causes Heart Palpitations And High Blood Sugar Levels In Type 2 Diabetics?

Question: I'm a type 2 diabetic and taking Onglyza 5 mg. Today I haven't been feeling well I have checked my blood sugar this morning and it went up to 154 and I'm getting a lot of palpitations and I just checked my sugar again and it is 174. What should I do?
Brief Answer:
Need to adjust the treatment.
Detailed Answer:
Dear ma'm, hi! as per your medical history, you are 63 y, female, with diabetes, High BP, and hypothyroidism. so with these problems palpitation can be due to sudden rise in BP , imbalanced thyroid profile, as well as due to hypoglycaemia. hypo is ruled out as your sugars are rather high. so you must check your BP, recent TSH and please let me know. also tell me your other medicines. are you having any other problem do tell me. onglyza alone is not working. either change to onglyza plus metformin ie kombyglyza or add a glimeperide 1 mg with breakfast. recheck your sugars after 7 days if change of treatment and let me know. regards!
