Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome to HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would like to explain that your palpitations seem to be due to an extrasystolic arrhythmia.
For properly investigating the presence and clinical importance of these cardiac premature beats, it is necessary a careful medical examination (cardiac auscultation) coupled with a resting ECG and additional tests as follows:
- an ambulatory 24 to 48 hours ECG monitoring (Holter),
- cardiac ultrasound,
- thyroid hormone levels,
- blood electrolytes level (you are taking supplements),
- cardiac enzymes (CK-MB, Troponin)
Because chest discomfort and extrasystoles presence, it is advisable the clinical investigation of cardiac ischemia.
In this regards, I recommend performing an exercise cardiac stress test and reviewing lossible coronary risk factors (possible hypertension, smoking contacts, dyslipidemia, etc.).
I recommend discussing with your attending physician about the above mentioned issues.
Hope you will find this answer of some help.
In case of any further uncertainties, feel free ta ask me again.
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
