What Causes Heart Palpitations When Under Stress?

Question: Hi. I am experiencing palpitations. Every 30 seconds or so my heart puts in a heavy beat or flutter. The occupational healt nurse at work said that she could feel it and thought that my heart beat was a little irregular yesterday and suggested I go to the doctor. I am u der some stress at the moment so is it really necessary to go to the doctor.

Thanks Doctor. I feel like a hypercondriac going to the doctor. Will this correct itself when the stress goes away.
